I found this on Facebook recently, and it brings to mind something I’ve been wondering about for a long time.
Of seven billion people in the world, Wikipedia says 2.4 billion are Christians. By comparison, there are only 1.6 billion Muslims, less than 14 million Jews, and a few million unbelievers like me.
Between 60% and 70% of Americans profess to be Christians, compared to very much smaller numbers of other groups. I understand these numbers are imprecise and that many people really don’t care very much about their religion, one way or the other.
Nevertheless, I have to wonder why so many Christians in this country seem to feel persecuted? When somebody gets persecuted, isn’t it usually the minority groups?
